Environmental Responsibility

DC Print is committed to making environmentally responsible choices to reduce the impact of our operations, not only in waste management but on the use of global resources as a whole.

Can a printer really be environmentally friendly? There are parts of our operation that have a lesser or greater affect and we are constantly reviewing new technology & materials to improve them.

We have achieved FSC accreditation (Forest Stewardship Council); the global organisation that actively manages the forests under its jurisdiction to ensure that sustainable logging is maintained and the social, economic and cultural well-being of the associated peoples are protected and improved into the future.

Our 2010 Environmental Policy statement:

  • Meet all necessary legislative, regulatory and consent requirements that relate to our business.
  • Keep ourselves informed of all environmental issues and in particular those which are of direct relevance to our business.
  • Continue to raise the awareness of all of our employees on the effect of their personal actions and their direct responsibility to the environment by communication, discussion and relevant training.
  • Operate a thoughtful purchasing policy by selecting, wherever possible, practical suppliers, materials, products and services which minimise our impact on the environment.
  • Limit our environmental impact by the operation of suitable energy, transport, travel, waste minimization and recycling schemes.
  • Manage our building in an environmentally sensitive manner being mindful of the needs of our staff and the local community.
  • Make use of, wherever practicable, the most appropriate environmental policies when planning and developing new and existing operations.
  • Set environmental objectives and targets based on continual improvement, to monitor results and review on a regular basis.
  • Establish and maintain an Environmental Management Systems to continually make improvements to reduce waste, effluent, emissions and the use of nonrenewable resources.
